High-rise under construction condominium partially collapsed

KUALA LUMPUR: Parts of a high-rise condominium project under construction at Taman Desa collapsed earlier today with photos and videos of the incident went viral on social media.

The project, known as The Address II is being developed by Maxim Holdings Sdn Bhd (Maxim Holdings).

In a statement released by Maxim Holdings to highlight the concern of purchasers, the company said the giving way of The Address II swimming pool slab (on the 6th floor) concrete casting occurred during heavy rain just now.

“Whilst we acknowledged the occurrence of the incident we must emphasis that the cause of the same is being investigated.

“We assure you that we are committed to ensuring the highest of building standard and the integrity of the development is of prime importance.

“We will spare no effort in ensuring that our obligations under the SPA are fulfilled fully.
Please have our assurance on that,” according to Maxim Management Team.

The case has been confirmed by the police and it is belived that at least four people were injured in the incident.
