The QLASSIC certificate was presented by Tuan Haji Razuki Ibrahim and Mr Chuang Kuang Hong, General Manager and Manager of the Construction Quality & Safety Division of Construction Industry Development Board (“CIDB”). Representing SkyWorld to receive the certificate was Mr Lee Chee Seng, Chief Operating Officer of SkyWorld.

In a statement, Mr Lee said the QLASSIC award is a testament to SkyWorld’s quality pledge in successfully delivering quality homes. “As an emerging developer, building our first project is always a challenge. And building our first project following QLASSIC standards and getting it completed three months ahead of schedule is even a bigger challenge. Our dedicated project and quality assurance team managed to pull this off. Big kudos to them!”

“When we built our SkyWorld Quality Centre, we pledge to provide quality homes for all our developments. In Malaysia, an average of 7,600 projects and developments are built every year and only 4.1% are certified by QLASSIC. We are part of the select few and we are proud to be associated to CIDB.”

QLASSIC is a system and method used by Construction Industry Development Board (“CIDB”) to assess and evaluate the quality of building workmanships based on the Construction Industry Standard in Malaysia. This system was established as a means to objectively compare the quality of workmanship through a series of stringent scoring system. Ascenda Residences is SkyWorld’s first property development in Malaysia offering 650 condominium units on a 3.35-acre land. Ascenda, with gross development value of RM399 million, achieved 76% QLASSIC scores.

SkyWorld broke new grounds by announcing the commencement of SkyWorld Quality Centre, the first of its kind in Malaysia. The RM3.8 million, 13,000 sq ft centre was the epitome of SkyWorld’s Quality pledge to its purchasers and the public; offering not only QLASSIC / CONQUAS standard workmanship which are certified by the construction industry in Malaysia, but also serves as an educational centre for those who wants to learn the difference between the quality compliant standards and non-compliant standards. The centre was completed in end-October 2017 and will be open to the public on 18 January 2017.
