The Unveiling of the Highly Anticipated Bukit Jalil City
Kuala Lumpur, 24 June 2015 – The city of Bukit Jalil, which secured its place in Malaysian history with the 16th Commonwealth Games in 1998, has again firmly established itself as the pride of Malaysia with the launch of the launch of Bukit Jalil City on 9th June 2015. The highly anticipated Bukit Jalil City launch sees the coming together of Malton Berhad and Pavilion in a strategic partnership to introduce the integrated development that connects luxury living and lifestyle in the heart of Bukit Jalil.
Covering a span of 50 acres of prime freehold land with the finest amenities for business, retail and leisure, the city is a mixed development project consisting of four key nodes – Retail: 2 million square feet Pavilion Bukit Jalil Regional Shopping Mall, which is also the largest mall in the Southern Corridor of Klang Valley; Residential: The Park Sky Residence; Neighbourhood Commercial: Park Point Retail; and Commercial: Signature Retail Offices. The project is estimated to be completed in 2019.
Officiating the unveiling of Bukit Jalil City, Minister of Federal Territories, Y.B. Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan bin Tengku Mansor, said: “In a city that offers both connectivity and lifestyle, the collaboration between Malton and Pavilion brings about a renewed excitement within Bukit Jalil that will deliver a fresh alternative. As a result, it will attract a large catchment area that will bring up the value of the surrounding properties. This will transform the classic high-rise residential area into a shopping hub.”
Hong Lay Chuan, Malton’s Executive Director, said: “Malton Berhad is one of the nation’s most reputable property developers, having established a solid presence in the Malaysian property sector through successfully completing more than RM2 billion worth of development projects nationwide. Bukit Jalil City is divided into four major components, which are the development of three and five storey Signature Retail Offices, as well as 44 units of two and three storey Park Point Retail and 1,098 units of luxury apartments known as THE PARK SKY RESIDENCE @ Bukit Jalil. The final component will be the iconic Pavilion Bukit Jalil Regional Shopping Mall, and all the components are already in motion.
“The Park Sky Residence comprise of 4 tower blocks of service apartments, made up of 40 and 46 storey apartments. The luxury sky homes with an 80-acre park view, consist of two bedrooms, three bedrooms and dual-key units, ranging from 868 – 1,565 square feet per unit. We believe that these four components will be the catalyst to transform Bukit Jalil into a more dynamic and vibrant township with excellent connectivity to KL city centre and Petaling Jaya, conveniently linked through a network of highways including LRT services, which will be supported by a new flyover soon.” added Hong.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of Bukit Jalil City today, Pavilion’s Retail Planner, Joyce Yap, said: “Leveraging on international market research, we are equipped with a good understanding of the fundamental issues and critical factors to develop a viable and successful project. Bukit Jalil City is well-positioned in terms of location and accessibility. It is the centre of connectivity, linked to the Bukit Jalil Highway, KESAS Highway and Maju Expressway, LRT and a vast network of roads.
“Retail planning requires not only the hardware but also the software that personalises a shopping mall. A good team with track management record, sustainable management and operational practices, aggressive marketing and leasing is needed to stay ahead of competition. I am very excited with our team of dedicated industry professionals, who has worked cohesively to manage and operate Pavilion KL, and they will now share their experience for Pavilion Bukit Jalil,” added Joyce.
