Korean Restaurants (Non-Halal) You Should Visit in Mont Kiara

Share story

With half the population in Mont Kiara is dedicated to Koreans, of course we should list out the best Korean cuisine restaurants we could find in Mont Kiara for our readers.

 1. JINJIN SOORA @ PLAZA MONT KIARA

Jinjin Soora offers most of the usual suspects of a typical Korean joint, namely marinated grilled meats, ramen, kimchi stew, kimbabs, and a slew of appetizing banchan. To top it off, the restaurant is run by an all-Korean team, so the food served here has a seal of authenticity to it.

The restaurant offered up a vast menu such as the grilled pork belly served with lettuce and perilla leaves, kimbab, steamed egg, and dakgalbi set served with kimchi stew and rice. And not forgetting of course, the unlimited servings of banchan!

2. CHI MAC @ SOLARIS MONT KIARA

Fried chicken and beer, a pairing known as ‘chimac’ in Korea, is one of their most loved suppers  here. How could one resist deep-fried chicken washed down with a glass of bubbly, cold beer? Frequented by Mont Kiara’s own Korean community, Chi Mac Bistro is where you’ll want to visit for this killer combo! The sharing plates consists of a portion of whole chicken that’s good for two people. The Gan Jang Chicken comes highly recommended here. Glazed in soy, these babies have a great sweet-salty balance that’s best enjoyed with Asahi Draft Beer. Kick back with the friends here for a K-style supper or snuggle up for a sinful stay-at-home one, as Chi Mac delivers to Mont Kiara and Desa Parkcity for free!

The brainchild of South Korean co-founder and an Australian chef, Doma’s appeal lies in its Korean-inspired dishes that bear unconventionally bold flavours. The cafe is quite hidden from the eyes of the main road even though one might pass by it nearly everyday. Their signature dish, Doma’s Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) is fried two times at 180 C°. Their free range KFC comes with 3 bold flavors all with a crispy crunchy surface. Every Tuesday, take advantage of their in house promotion where a half chicken comes at half the price!

6. Sae Ma Eul @ SOLARIS MONT KIARA

We saved one of the best for last. This place is often packed to the brim, with patrons sharing side dishes and grilling meats over the charcoal-fired pit. Sae Ma Eul is one of the popular spots in Solaris Mont Kiara for Korean BBQ. The menu is simple but includes almost everything from seafood and poultry to vegetables and carbohydrate dishes. Like any other Korean restaurant/BBQ they are pretty generous with the sides. But do prepare to sweat a lot when you visit as you would probably be seated outside and work on the charcoal grill.
